Experience the Magnificence of Katana Swords

Katana is more than just a blade. This Samurai sword has been a part of Japanese heritage for centuries, a symbol of discipline and expert craftsmanship. Made traditionally with tamahagane, which is developed from a meticulous smelting process, the katana exudes true power and performance.

Our Katanas: Exceptional Quality With Every Sweep

  • Expert Craftmanship: We handcraft and polish each of our katana swords using traditional and authentic methods, ensuring perfection for every blade.
  • Time-Tested Materials: Our katanas are made from high-carbon steel, allowing for a beautifully balanced hold and a razor-sharp edge.
  • Ready For Battle: Each katana comes ready for competitions, martial arts, and practice.

Exquisite Collector’s Pieces

Our katana swords make stunning additions to any sword collection. Our designs pay homage to Japan’s Samurai heritage, with their curved, slender edges and intricately made tsukas (the handle of the katana).

Custom Katana Options

Balance the traditional craftsmanship of a katana blade with your own style, and bring to life the style of katana that speaks to you. The art of making custom katana blades has been around for centuries, with artisans dedicating themselves to the process of perfecting each blade.

Like the artisans of centuries ago, we pride ourselves on forging authentic, personalized blades. Customize your new katana’s blade material and length, hamon, ito, tsuba, and more, making your new purchase truly one of a kind.

Choosing the Right Katana for You

Katana swords are as intricate as their long heritage, which is why you should take the time to choose the right blade for you. When selecting a katana, consider the following features.

  • Blade length
  • Blade material
  • Tsuka-ito
  • Full tang

Decide whether you’re looking for an authentic katana that will be displayed as a decorative collector’s piece or if you’re looking for a custom design for a personalized touch. Do you plan to practice with your katana? These questions will help you find a sword that is perfectly crafted for your needs.

FAQs About Katanas

How Much Do Katanas Usually Cost?

The price of a katana can differ due to materials, authenticity, and craftsmanship. Hand-forged and polished katana blades crafted from traditional tamahagane steel can typically range from $200 to $2,000.

However, if you are interested in historical replicas or museum-quality pieces, you can expect to pay a lot more for an authentic katana.

What Are The 3 Katanas Called?

The Japanese Samurai typically carried three types of blades as their preferred weapons of choice. These were as follows:

  • Katana: This is perhaps the most well-known samurai sword. With its curved blade and long handle, this weapon was mainly used on the battlefield.
  • Wakizashi: This blade was known to partner the katana, making for a practiced and deadly dance. The two swords are often displayed together in collections, and this is known as a “daisho.”
  • Tanto: The smallest of the three, this blade was used for slashing and close combat in battle.

How Do I Care For My Katana?

Caring for a katana means ensuring it remains in good shape. We recommend keeping your blade oiled to prevent it from rusting. Use natural oils such as mineral or Choji oil and gently glide over the blade with an oiling cloth. Oil your blade after every use or every couple of months if you’re keeping your katana as a collector’s item.

In the meantime, keep your katana away from humidity. Store your blade in the saya (or scabbard) to keep your sword in good condition.

How Do I Sharpen My Katana?

A whetstone is the best and most effective way to sharpen your katana. However, sharpening and polishing this type of sword can be a delicate process. If your katana is in need of sharpening, we recommend taking it to a reputable professional who can sharpen your sword without damaging it.
